CASA Soccer Classic 2011

Clemson Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation will be providing certified trainers at both the Nettles and Anderson fields during the tournament weekend. Please visit their website at www.csmr.org to learn more about them.

Pre-orders for the 2011 CASA Soccer Classic tee shirt are now being accepted. The front logo is pictured and the back will include the names of all the teams participating in the tournament. Tournament tees are 100% cotton and will come in youth medium, youth large, adult small, adult medium, adult large, adult xl and adult xxl sizes. . Prices will be $13 for pre-orders and $16 at the tournament. Pre-orders need to be emailed to nearpost@charter.net  and include team name, gender, age group and number of each size. They need to be picked and paid for at Friday’s team registration/check-in. Please only team pre-orders will be accepted and all pre-orders must be received by noon on Friday, August 20. Checks should be made payable to CASA Soccer Classic.

We are excited and proud to invite you the 2011 CASA Soccer Classic that will be played on August 27-28 in the Clemson/Anderson area of the upstate of South Carolina. The classic is hosted by the Clemson Anderson Soccer Alliance and directed by Jay Wingo of Near Post Soccer.

Last year saw 69 teams compete from 4 states and this year we are planning on growth to  90 teams in boys and girls age groups U-9 through U-19. Teams from Charleston, Greenville, Columbia,  Augusta, Atlanta, Columbus and Montgomery have already expressed interest in joining us. Our location on I-85 half-way between Charlotte and Atlanta is very convenient for a tremendous number of clubs and teams that will want to meet to compete against each other. Our late August date is perfect for teams that are looking for a tune-up before the big Labor Day weekend tournaments and for teams looking for a pre-season tournament that leaves the Labor Day weekend free for families.

Matches will be played on fields in Clemson and Anderson that are only 10 mins. apart. The tournament fields and hotels are very close to the cities of Clemson and Anderson and all the great things each offer. Whether you want to visit the college town atmosphere of Clemson or sample the restaurants and shopping of Anderson and Pendleton.
