Near Post and Redoubt Soccer Association are proud and excited to announce the creation of the Chattanooga Academy Challenge which will be played on Dec. 6-7 in Chattanooga, Tenn. at the Redoubt Soccer Complex. The Academy Challenge is open to all boys and girls Academy, Select and Recreation teams in the age groups U-9 through U-12. This new event was created to help facilitate and further the "Player Development" philosophy that so many of the top youth clubs practice in these critical formative ages of players.

Teams will guaranteed their standard 3 matches but individual players will also have the opportunity to compete in individual skills tests such as juggling and dribbling through an obstacle course while being timed. Leading clubs from across the southeast will be invited to our event. Such top clubs as Birmingham United, Knoxville FC, Brentwood, Capitol City Streaks and Huntsville have already been contacted and are very interested. With these top clubs and many others attending we will be able to have 2 and 3 levels in each age group. All matches will be played at one venue which will make it much easier for Academy staffs to cover all their teams' matches. The Redoubt complex lends itself perfectly to 6v6 and 8v8 matches. We are also offering an 11v11 option along with 8v8 for U-12 teams. 

 Please keep in mind that Chattanooga is one of the top destinations in the U.S. for families. Chattanooga was chosen the third best city in the US to "visit as a family" in the April 2005 issue of Southern Living magazine, trailing only Walt Disney World and the Orlando area as favorite family destinations.
