The Phantoms defeated FUSC Purple in an exciting championship match 8-7. Both teams had advanced through group play and the Semi-Finals undefeated although FUSC was pushed to overtime in their semi.

In all an estimated 8 different high schools were represented by players on different tournament teams. In general the comments were very positive. Thanks to St. Francis Sports Medicine for supplying a trainer for the entire day and to Edward’s Road Baptist Church for the use of their field. 

Near Post is excited to announce the 2011 High School Six-a-Side Warmup which will be played on Sat., Jan. 29th. All matches will be played at the Edwards Road Baptist Church fields which are located at the corner of Hudson and Devenger Roads.

Six-a-Side matches will be the perfect way for players, who will begin high school training the following week, to prepare for their preseason. The large number of touches each player will receive in match conditions will be a great way for players to "shake off any rust" and/or develop match timing for the upcoming season. Full size goals will be used for GK’s to get realistic shot stopping opportunities and field players to get numerous goal scoring chances.

The entry fee for each team is $150 which covers all expenses. All teams will be guaranteed 3 matches and awards will be given to the champions in each division.
